Although sales of air purifiers are in a constant increase, it seems that the air purifier industry can not wash its hands off the controversy. One after another keeps arising.
That demand for air purifiers has increased is understandable. As more and more studies indicate that the air inside our homes is not really appropriate that I felt in the demand for air purifiers has increased. There is almost no dispute by acknowledging the fact that indoor air is a threat. But the controversy is something else.
The dissidents had raised a few points and it seems that there is merit in his argument. We will deal separately with each statement.
Contention 1: air purifiers never actually purify the air
There are some who say air purifiers do not deliver when it comes to purify the air. This means that, even after using one of these devices, do not get sick much of the pollutants in the air in the room. This depends largely on the type of treatment system that is used. If it is a basic model, then there can be a large number of particles would not be trapped by the plant. Suppose you have only the purifier HEPA filters, then you can not expect it to be effective against viruses or smoke.
But with the latest, sophisticated purifiers serious can achieve good results. The cleaning may be more than 99% cash and the air you breathe finally be largely pure and beneficial to your health.
Therefore, although not all purifiers deliver what we say, rather than actually do.
Contention 2: Ionizing air purifiers Ozone Issue
There is some meat to this argument, since recent studies indicate that the ionizing air purifiers actually emit small amounts of ozone. Now, the ozone, despite three oxygen atoms is completely different from the real oxygen. In fact, it is toxic if breathed in. The third atom in ozone is a free radical and can readily combine with any organic substance. If we breathe in ozone this free radical is combined with organic substances in the body and can seriously damage our lungs.
The emission of ozone from the ionizing air purifiers is minimal, but over a period of time which can be harmful. Is still under investigation to know the exact magnitude of the effect this can have on our health.
Pretty good post. I just came by your site and wanted to say
that I have really liked browsing your posts. In any case
I’ll be subscribing to your blog and I hope you post again soon!
Thanks for shedding some light on this controversy. On the one hand you read horror stories on the web about ozone from ionizing air purifiers, but on the other you have manufacturers like AirOasis who claim that there’s no ozone byproducts coming from their units.
I’ve been shopping for an air purifier and find it all very confusing. I did a blog about my air purifiers research. Drop by and let me know what you think!
